Kip Aguirre

I am Kip Aguirre, a food, product, and portrait photographer based in Manila, Philippines who enjoys cooking, eating, and shooting food.

FOOD

One thing that gets me excited to try a restaurant out will always have to be seeing a photo of their food that is not just technically excellent but also in a way that I can relate to as well. How I see it, food photography should entice your audience while, at the same time, not alienating them. You want them to see and feel that they are right there in front of the table about to enjoy your dish. You want them to relate to your food.

What I offer is imagery that takes your customers right to your food, giving them a more personal view of what you have to offer. I believe that having perfect looking food in your photographs, despite really being appetizing to the eyes, can lead to the thinking that the food is too perfect to be real. That is why I strive to capture food that looks appetizing while still having a little mess in the image to ground it into what is real.

PRODUCT

Showcasing products through images is key to give your market a better idea of what your product has to offer. From showing them in a particular context or use case to highlighting certain details that define the product that you are offering, I have helped clients get the images that they want.

PORTRAIT

My beginnings as a photographer was really in portraits. Being one of the few people in my group back in university that was willing to lug around a camera to all our events and get togethers, I took it upon myself to capture the candid moments among friends. My approach towards portraits became similar to how I shoot my food photos: Telling a story with one frame.

Who have I shot for?

Nestle Ice Cream Flavors of the World, Nestle Fruit Selection Yogurt, Nestle KitKat, Nestle All Purpose Cream, Nestle Thick Cream, Maybelline Philippines, Wooden Spoon, Ibarra Watches, ChickenZilla, and The Little Spatula
